The Asahi Dome at Dark Mofo - Hobart’s midwinter festival provided a multi-sensory night mass experience filled with immersive sound, lush fabrics, light and projection. Moth were engaged to transform the striking, 16-metre diameter pavilion with a charred black timber and neon bar, mirrored bar tables that reflected the dynamic ceiling projections and a 5m diameter giant ottoman where guests could lay back on and take in the projections created by projection artist Joel Zika. Lord Fascinator filled the dome with an immersive soundscape. The sensory rich experience was a play on digital versus analogue, technology versus natural and history contrasting with modern that ultimately provided a welcoming oasis during the dark mofo festival.
