River Drive Motel is a five bedroom boutique motel situated in Tarwin Lower South Gippsland. The motel sits within one acre of garden and offers a tranquil getaway for all. The new owners have lovingly refurbished the motel with a nod to holiday nostalgia with all of the comforts and thoughtful touches of modern Australian design. For the exterior palette we wanted to bring freshness to the existing building and evoke a relaxed southern climate coastal feel. Guests are invited to enjoy the outdoor space complete with outdoor shower, BBQ's, picnic tables, relaxed seating on the grass under the trees and bike parking. Guests also have access to The Shed where all of the extra fun bits are stored: Including lawn games, extra fridge space for all your fishing needs, bbq needs and a communal ice machine! Inside the rooms layers of green create a natural depth balanced by warm flecked cork flooring and Australian hardwood custom designed and built furniture. Accents of chrome vintage furniture, light fittings and artworks give additional grounding to each of the rooms. Soft green drapes, Courchevel Velvet 'nugget' upholstery and warm rust tones in the blankets, cushions and linen robes tie the soft furnishings into the palette and create a warmth to the atmosphere. Green porcelain tiles, ‘Green Slate’ AbsoluteMatte laminate, hardwood timber and chrome finishes throughout the kitchenettes ensure a cohesive, unified look in the rooms. In the dressing rooms the palette becomes more vibrant and rich with the walls, joinery and ceiling being finished in Spice Powder. The bathrooms bring retro joy with the key greens of Salvia and Spirulina teamed with soft pink porcelain tiles.
